I'm not a cat person but for those who have a cat here are some tips.

1.Clean it's litter box daily no cat likes a toilet full of poop
2.Give it canned cat food.It may go bad in a few hours but it's higher in protein than dry food
3.If your cats panting like a dog take it to a vet
4.If she/he hisses or meows than it's best to leave her alone
5.During shedding season brush it's fur daily
6.Give it a scratching post if the claws get sharp
7.Keep your cat indoors,outdoors is unsafe for cats
8.Give it fresh water 24/7
9.Spay or neuter your cat
10.Provide lots of entertainment for it
